    Introduction
For a demonstration to work, you need to ensure that all the components it needs are configured and running. Check the following if you have problems running a demonstration:
  • Are the required components installed and configured?

For example, the Oracle Application Server Portal demonstrations work only if you installed the Portal and Wireless install type, or higher. Also, you must have configured the Portal component. The Portal demonstrations would not work in the J2EE and Web Cache install type.
  • Are the required components running?

Demonstrations work only if their components and OC4J demo instances are already running. You can use Oracle Enterprise Manager to check the status of and start up Oracle Application Server components and OC4J demo instances.

  • Have you made any post-installation changes?

Demonstrations may not work if you have made post-installation changes to items such as port assignments, hostnames, virtual host settings, and IP addresses.

    Terminology

  • ORACLE_HOME refers to the top-level installation directory for Oracle Application Server.
